Chasing the sun - a marathon filming all around Hajdú-Bihar and Bihor
As it was raining and cold at the beginning of April, we could not film all the scenes that were missed earlier bacause of the weather. On 10th April just before lunch it stoped raining, so we got into the mini van loaded it with the necessary techniques and the team was already on the way to make up for the missed scenes. First we stopped in Hajdúbagos (Hungary), where we recorded the intro stand-up.

Just when we finised the last sentence, it started to rain, so we quickly packed all of the things and drove to Paptamasi (Tamaseu) in Romania, where we missed the good-bye scene the last time. Now, we changed the concept slightly as the local doctor was not available to come and give an interview in the thermal bath anymore, so we just stopped by the main road with heavy traffic that leads accross the village and recorded there a good-bye stand-up. When we arrived, it was sunny, but while we were all risking our lives on the road, it started to rain.
Yes, finally it was a sad good-bye, not tear drops, but rain drops in our eyes. But we MADE IT! The packing at the gas-station - which is not a real gas station as there is no petrol there - was already in a good mood. The team was happy cleaning and drying all the equipments.

Atfer all we went to Oradea (Romania) just to pick up some papers from our partner and headed back to Debrecen (Hungary) to finish the progress report of the project for the JTS as it was the 10th of April and the deadline was midnight. We survived!

Following the Easter celebration, we filmed the cooking scene in Újszentmargita on 4th April. We prepared with Marika and Margó a delicious soup with ham and vegetables. A small kitchen, very warm-hearted people and a hungry filming crew all together made a good chemistry. Here are some photos on the filming.
Easter was celebrated by the crew in Újszentmargita (Hungary). We started with a morning worship in the local Catholic Church. We visited the local community centre and had a great lunch in the neighbouring Tiszacsege. In the afternoon there was a performance in the village on how the gossip is working among young ladies. We still did not become experst of this. Following the play, the audience could join a dance where we could explore new steps of the tradional Hungarian folkdance is circles.
We filmed in Hajdúbagos (Hungary) on two different days. First (15th MarcH) it was snowing, so we stayed inside and baked a cake called “dübbencs” with dill and had an interview on the life of the local community. The 2nd time (29th March) it was raining, so we took editing shots at a local farm and after that in the community centre. The topic for Hajdúbagos would be: “spring is here, nature is alive, locals are active”, however the spring is not here yet. We need to go back again, when it is sunny for one day….. Hopefully this year it will come!
We filmed in Tamaseu (RO). Horses, horsmen, secret recipes, meat and dough and a lot of fun.
